Green or Black = Bad


This movement would not stay running. The reason is apparent by looking at the bushings. One bushing on the left is green. The lubricant has hardened and has some of the brass has dissolved in it to give it that color.  Another bushing (in the crook of the "L" shaped lever) is black. Black denotes dirt and brass filings trapped in the hardened oil.  Time for an overhaul
